Michel de Nostredame, born in the south of France in 1503 and Jewish descent, became more known for the Latin form of his name, Nostradamus. Created and instructed for his grandfather, he learned letters and sciences, even the occult ones, as astrology. Forming himself in medicine, he was known for his devotion to the sick people in those difficult times devastated for the black plague and the discovery in the mode of transmission of the black plague. He invented a very powerful method of asepsis, with which he cured many victims and his fame of healer was spread.
In the politician plan, he was distinguished as council member of the kings of France: Henry II, Francis II and Charles IX, besides having been reliable man of the Queen Catherine of Médicis, for whon he elaborated horoscopes and made astral forecasts.
But it was with his capacity to foresee the future that he gained fame. However, to protect his work from the church catholic, he wrote it in archaic French, in a codified mantle of Latin constructions and Greeks, as well as using anagrams, figures of syntax, geographic places little known and burn the books where he based and where were the solution for the reading right and accurate of his prophecies, becoming them accessible to few people.
Finally, an important fact: his work was written for XX century, that is the century that most of his prophecies occur, because he knew that only in this century his work would be understood. Because of that, his previous prophecies were only to give credibility to his work.
Nostradamus left registered in the field of the predictions the following works:
- Letter to his son Cesar Nostradamus;
- Letter the Henry II, King of France;
- the Milenium, made up of ten quatrains, with 100 squares each;
- the Omens, that are 141;
- the Predictions, composed by 58 sextains.

NOTE: These texts had been based on existing works. We just compiled them. These works and pages were based on several others webpages (which can be found on the links page).
